Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis
Technical Definition:
A non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells. It is based on the principle that fat cells are more susceptible to cold temperatures than surrounding tissues.
Key Mechanism:
Adipocytes (fat cells) crystallize under controlled subzero temperatures (-11°C to +5°C), triggering apoptosis (programmed cell death). The dead cells are gradually metabolized and removed by the body’s lymphatic system over weeks.
